Synopsis
The Art of Resilience: Phoenix from the Flame is a 90-minute feature documentary. It's a story about overcoming adversity by dedicating oneself to art. The film follows Anthony McGrath Tooton IV — in honour of G. Scott Stirling and in memory of his son, Jeffrey Shyam Stirling Jr. — overcoming adversity through dedication to art, as do its other subjects: Janet Cull, Scott Pynn and Zena Hagerty. In candid, unpolished interviews they describe the cost of falling and the discipline of getting back up, and music and performance carry them to “the zone” where the work takes over. The film is being made for broadcast on NTV (Canada's Superstation).
